Plays Well With Others...

This fabulous guy is easy going but he still loves his time to play. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking:


The ball is always a favorite no matter if it's tug-o-war or soccer.

And nothing beats stretching the legs and playing a little tag.

Charming & Fun

Abner has been with us in our home for about 3 weeks now. I felt the need to wait to post only so I could get to know him a little better. Now, I can say with absolute sincerity that he really is as sweet and loveable as everyone has been saying all along. Beautiful dog (with the cutest "updo" ears) who is learning that he deserves all the scratches he can get......

"So I pretty much consider myself king of the castle. I sleep when and where I want, get to cuddle in the finest beds and blankets, I eat when I want to, go out when I want to and get the best pettings in the house. Old Dog (Sam) doesn't take up too much of my space or time so I really think I've got it like that..... and then in walks tall, blonde and thin.......yeah, I'm going back to bed"

Abner is smart and learns fast. He responds well to commands and corrections and has a curiousity for all things new especially when it comes to the smells of the kitchen or someone's room. ("They call that being nosey.... like the old lady down the street" - Koby). He sniffs, lingers if he really likes it then moves on to the next new discovery. Gets along well with other dogs and loves to play ball in the backyard.

"Huh? Did someone call my name?"

"Forget it.... not until you promise to throw it again!"

Everyone in the house is thoroughly enjoying Abner's company. Even if they don't want to admit it, the camera never lies!

Although he has shown good sharing habits with my two dogs, I just know Abner can't wait to curl up in a place of his own..... who's ready? :-)

Handsome Hound

Abner seemed to enjoy the snow on Sunday night. He did not mind wearing his coat outside. We took this nice shot of this handsome boy. I hope he finds his forever home soon. What a stunning face!

Look into my Eyes

Abner can mezmerize you with his expressive eyes and big kisses. He is a lover and a gentle boy. He'd be a great companion to snuggle up to on a cold winter night.

Eda

Abner is quite a character. The other evening when cleaning and straightening kennels, we went into Abner's kennel. It was nice and pristine. It was totally clean and his mat and blanket were all nice and neat.

Someone taught him how to make his bed and he's darn good at it :)
